Balapadam [Bharatanatyam & Kathak]

Introductory classes for kids below 5 years. Basic adavus, slokas and hand gestures are taught and its a great stepping stone for young ones. For Kathak, we will be introducing basic spins, Todas, story telling and hand gestures.

Bharatanatyam Beginners | Intermediate | Advanced

Through a well formatted syllabus, the students at Swarna Kala Mandir undergo rigorous training in both theory and practical aspects of Bharatanatyam. Many of its students have also been actively participating in competitions and winning prizes in the same. Scholarships are also awarded to deserving pupils from low income families who earnestly outshine in this art.

Kathak – Beginners to Advanced

At SKM, we also offer Kathak classes – a north Indian classical dance form with pirouettes, intricate footwork and abhinaya. Both adult and kids sessions are available at Choa Chu Kang, Jurong West and Online.

Arangetram / Manchpravesh Training

Arangetram is a major milestone in a dancer’s journey. Its the debut solo recital of a margam by the dancer after completing advanced training in Bharatanatyam. Special training period is allocated for the student undertaking arangetram, with orchestra rehearsals in the end.

Thalam and Nattuvangam

Students who have completed advanced training in Bharatanatyam or completed their arangetram can enroll to explore the vast arena of rhythm, a major pillar of Bharatanatyam.

Complimentary Workshops & Summer Intensives

We regularly conduct workshops and intensives covering unique compositions, basic exercises and yoga for dancers, and many many more during school holidays – Natyasambhashana series 2020, Adavu Intensives (every summer), guest lectures by renowned dancers to name a few. These sessions are predominantly complimentary.

Performances | Video Productions | Stage Productions

SKM is actively involved in encouraging students to take part in various local and international dance competitions, and we give ample opportunity to students to perform in in-house video and stage productions. The teachers assist in choreographies for the same.
